Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how ScrollStop ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
ScrollStop does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
The App is designed to operate entirely locally on your device to protect your privacy.
2. Use of Android Accessibility Service API
ScrollStop requires the use of the Android AccessibilityService API to provide its core functionality, which is blocking short-form video feeds.
Why We Need It
- The AccessibilityService is strictly used to observe the active window content in order to detect when you open specific short-form video features, such as Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or TikTok.
- Once detected, the AccessibilityService allows ScrollStop to display an intervention overlay to help prevent doomscrolling.
What We Do Not Do With the AccessibilityService
3. Data Storage
Any configuration data, such as app preferences, protection status, and block statistics, is stored locally on your device in secure, private app storage using Android DataStore and Room Database.
4. Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
